GARAGE DOOR OPENER INSTALLATION
During the 30 years that Automatic Garage Door Company has been serving the Cleveland area and beyond, we’ve learned a thing or two about garage door opener installation. We know how important a good opener is to the function and safety of your door, and offer a complete line of residential garage door openers and accessories from the most trusted brands on the market: LiftMaster® and Genie®. We know our products inside and out, and can help you choose just the right one for your system. Safety and performance are always our number one priority.
Today’s Openers Offer So Many Features
Today’s garage door openers are safer, more advanced and more convenient than ever before. Some allow you to control the opener from a computer or smartphone, and can tell you how long the garage door has been shut. Some are so quiet you can’t hear them operating from inside your home, or have higher horsepower for maximum lift capacity. Others can work even when the power fails with a battery backup system.
Repair or Replace?
Due to the risk for injury, the Automatic Garage Door Company always recommends professional garage door opener repair. There are a number of factors that help us to determine whether your opener should be repaired or replaced. Age, condition of the machine, repair cost, type of garage door and how often the door is used will all be considered. Don’t assume you will have to buy a new unit; often our technicians can make repairs that will restore the opener to like-new condition! However, the cost of parts necessary to keep a 20-year-old opener operating safely typically exceeds the value of a comparable replacement. In any case, we can provide you with a professional opinion that will help you make the decision to repair or replace.
The Automatic Garage Door Company recommends that all garage door openers made prior to 1993 be replaced, as opposed to being repaired. This is because most older units do not contain external entrapment protection devices, such as infrared sensors and sensing edges, and therefore do not meet the Consumer Products Safety Commission’s current standards for garage door opener safety.
