The MyQ Control Panel works by upgrading LiftMaster Security+ garage door openers that have been in the market since 1998. Even older Security+ garage door openers can take advantage of more modern technologies, once the Control Panel is installed.
To control a LiftMaster garage door opener remotely though, the LiftMaster Internet Gateway must also be in place. Paired with the MyQ Control Panel, the Internet Gateway leverages your internet connection to let you access your garage door opener through any computer or smartphone. Even your home lights can be controlled remotely with the combined power of the Control Panel and the Internet Gateway!
LiftMaster products compatible with the Internet Gateway include:
- Security+ 2.0 garage door openers featuring yellow learn buttons (models 8360, 8500, and 8550)
- Security+ 2.0 gate operators (models CSL24V, CSW24V, and LA500)
- MyQ Control Panel model 888LM, and related MyQ accessories (models 823LM, 825LM, and 829LM).
